Have you truly surrendered or have you given up? One is welcoming in stillness, one is counting yourself out.

More Vision, Less Control.

Surrender is a way of life. An opportunity that allows us to take a step away from the driver seat. Now why would anyone ever want to do that? It’s such a scary idea to let your life run on autopilot without trying to micromanage every detail. But in this scary place, we find our true gifts and soar beyond our wildest dreams. Our desire for control can keep us confined by a set of goals that do not challenge the parts of ourselves that need it. When we let go of our desire for control, we are no longer bound by playing it safe. This is where true magic happens.

Don’t Get It Twisted.

It’s easy to confuse surrender with letting go. Our fears tell us we must be crazy to think we can just trust life to steer us in the right direction. Thankfully we have more than life guiding us. We all have the opportunity to be guided by God, the universe and everything in it! When you trust the plan that Spirit has for your life, all things come into alignment to make your dreams come true. Our only job is to have faith, grow and trust in the stillness rather than lean into the fear of the unknown.

As we learn the power of surrender, we must recognize that it is not the same thing as giving up. Surrender is best embraced as a choice, not a desperate effort to make things “hurry up” and change. Let’s not confuse surrender with quitting. When we quit, we walk away from our path allowing ourselves to abandon the outcome. When we surrender, we remain in balance with our plan and take time for reflection and recovery without the pressure of immediate results.

Make It Make Sense.

Connect with your confidence when working to find the strength to let go and try something new. It takes time for us to trust that we are okay taking a break from working on our goals. It is easy to fall into the pattern of feeling like you haven’t done enough, and the expectations will only increase as you feel farther away from your finish line. Surrender requires us to trust that our dreams are not just in our hands, but in the hands of Spirit, our guardian angels, ancestors and even those we surround ourselves with. This can seem scarier than our fate and success being contingent upon our own actions. We have to let go of the belief that our success is completely dependent on what we know and what we do. Aligning yourself with success requires preparation and divine timing to end up in the right place at the right time.

When we choose to surrender, we set the intention to welcome in the unknown and see what we can achieve. Think of moments when you have done all you can and still seem to fall short. Now think of moments when opportunities pop up out of thin air and meet you right where you are. It’s almost as if the less we know (and the less we can try to control) the better we are when trying to create new beginnings. Saying “yes” to letting the magic happen is the dance of surrendering.

So Here We Are.

Do the work to build a healthier relationship with stillness. Connect with the still and consistent energy of nature to remind you of the power of being rooted in where you need to be. It may seem cliche, but weekly time away from the busyness of everyday life can shift your perspective and help you lean into flowing with life. Spend less of your time worrying about the next step and more time just making sure you are the healthiest and most whole version of yourself when the door opens. Because doors will open no matter what. Make sure it is not a burnt out version of you that answers the knock, but a grounded, calm and confident version of you.

Final Thoughts.

Spend more time preparing for the blessing and less time checking the front door for its arrival.

Reflect on your past successes, remember how much of it is divine timing and let this bring you peace and patience.

See the strength, faith and courage it takes to surrender. Reflect on why surrender can feel like failure for you, work to be more confident in your attraction to what is meant for you.
